Hidden Message: n/a
The subject of A Perfectly Good Heart remains somewhat of a mystery. The song was added as a bonus track on the 2008 release of Swift's debut album Taylor Swift, originally released in 2006. The song may have been penned sometime during the interim between the two release dates. Swift and high school boyfriend Brandon Borello parted amicably but the song which croons:
why would you wanna take our love and tear it all apart/
why would you wanna make the very first scar
Possibly referring to Swift's tumultuous relationship with Sam Armstrong which ended after Armstrong cheated on Swift right before the original release of her first studio album.
