Change is Swift's story about her experiences being the underdog on the smallest record
labelin Nashville (Big Machine Records) and the difficulties of first starting out in the business. She was inspired by the encouragement of her bandmates and label during this uphill battle. She hoped for herself and for them that someday
things would be different. The song was featured as one of the themes for the
2008 Summer Olympics.
