Mary's Song (Oh My My My) from Taylor Swift’s self-titled album is based on the beautiful relationship of her neighbors in Nashville who had known each other since childhood. After observing the couple at dinner she was inspired by their long-lasting
marriage and how it directly opposed the type of romance that the tabloids tend to fixate on. Taylor has said that it was reassuring to know that all she had to do was look next door to find a perfect illustration of forever.
